This month was teeming with travel! I spoke at two Extraordinary Women events--one in Pensacola, Florida and one in Johnson City, Tennessee. My favorite thing about those events is hearing other speakers like Angela Thomas, Lysa TerKeurst, Carol Kent and Chonda Pierce. I always leave with far more blessings than I dole out! Did you know Michael O'Brien leads worship for them? I am a huge Michael O fan. If you've never heard his music, check out Be Still My Soul. It will calm your spirit.
Michael was also with us (like MasterCard, I don't like to leave home without him!) in Lima, Ohio for Fresh Grounded Faith, along with Stormie Omartian. What a great group of women in Lima! We loved them so much we are going back next spring, too! Come join us!
While in Lima, I received some stunningly delicious dark chocolate called Raspberries 'N Cream by DeBrand Chocolatier. It was smooth raspberry cream and tart raspberry juice covered in dark chocolate. Just enough bold, just enough zing! I loved it. You must give it a taste test if you're a raspberry dark chocolate fan. The only disconcerting fact about it is that 1 piece has 70 Calories and 3.5 grams of fat! But, who's counting?
Another thing I don't leave home without is my new GoBible. I was privileged to work with this great company to help make this audio Bible accessible to visually impaired users. No, I had no techie input; all I did was figure out how to make it easy for a blind user to understand. Seriously, the reading is beautiful. It is easy to use--blind or not! It is perfect for busy women. Two ladies from our office use it every day-while ironing, while working out.... It's excellent to make those tasks bearable! Ha!
I have so much to tell you about this month that I know you will love, and this last one is no exception. Abby Rike's new book just came out, and girl, you must read it. I did and was riveted. In Working It Out, Abby shares her experience in overcoming the grief she dealt with from losing her husband, five year old daughter, and two and a half week old son to a car accident in 2006. She takes you along with her on her journey from brokenness to contentment. She was one of the stars of The Biggest Loser: Season 8, and is one of the loveliest, funniest, and most real women I've ever met. The book is full of insight she gained from the loss of her family and the loss of 100 pounds. What kept me captivated were the love letters she included that were shared between her husband Rick and herself. Reading them even encouraged me in my marriage. This book is a winner, just like Abby. You will be so blessed if you read it!
Okay, done!
