What I Am In To Lately
Everything about the last three weeks has announced, "It's summer!" It's been hot, fun and laid back, and I love it! Okay, the hot part, not so much! But, I have found the most wonderful, amazing, essential product for the menopausal woman in summer! It's called "Caudalie Beauty Elixir." I carry this cool and refreshing spritzer everywhere because I'm always hot! No, not that kind of hot. Since menopause, I never know when and where those dreaded flashes will come! And, in summer, the hot flashes are on steroids! Just a few squirts on my face and neck can transform me from an erupting volcano into a human being again!
The fun part of June has been renting a boat and hanging out on Table Rock Lake with our family. We tubed and floated and the boys jumped off cliffs. I, on the other hand, lounged in the boat, listened to a book and sipped Welch's Sparkling Mango Twist Cocktail. If you've never tried it, you simply must give it a taste test. It is refreshing and delicious. I also tried Welch's Sparkling Raspberry Limeade Cocktail, and it is great, too!
The book I just finished is Imperium by Robert Harris. The book traces Cicero's rise to power and centers on the relationship he had with his slave, Tiro. Tiro was his personal secretary, and the book reveals they may have been genuine friends, also. Tiro was a bright man and has been credited with creating what we now know as shorthand. Harris uses Tiro to narrate the story, and the book is organized by "scrolls" rather than chapters. Don't let the B.C. timeline intimidate you. It is whimsical and accessible, and I really enjoyed it. I learned so much about ancient Rome that I should have remembered from high school!
So, give these things a taste test:
1. Caudalie Beauty Elixir Spray
2. Welch's Sparkling Mango Twist Cocktail
3. Imperium by Robert Harris
